Solo uw issues
I've been soloing UW with a W/Rt for some time now, very easy to do, very stable and hard to die.
However the last few days I've been aggroing no less than 6 groups of coldfires per run, turning my runs into about an hour and 15 minute long runs because most of the time is taken up by trying to escape the coldfires.
Is anyone else experiencing the same problem or am I just getting sloppy and rushing too much now?
Thanks.

I always thought W/RT farmers would avoid coldfires because they will slow down runs.
It is possible to avoid all coldfires and still take out all smites, I do it all the time.

I've been doing a few runs and i always avoid the coldfires, sometimes i agro them and it takes a while to run away from them.
I don't bother killing them because they take too long.

Same hear i have been faming UW with my W/RT everyday for at least 5 to 6 runs a day and i ain't never had a problem clearing out ALL the smites without aggroing anything else except nightmares.
Why does everyone blame the game when they start screwing up lol

also keep in mind that if you trigger a nightmare close to a coldfire the coldfire will sometimes also be aggroed.

You're getting extremely sloppy..
I seldomly aggro one group of coldfires much less 6. Basically just avoid them, its not hard.

If you forgot, or simply can't read, I said "is anyone else experiencing the same problem or am I just getting sloppy now?"
I never blamed the game, even remotely. In fact, I never even slightly hinted that the game was to blame. I simply asked if anything had changed or if I had just gotten sloppy, and that's very possible, because I used to wait for the coldfire patrols a lot, and now I take every chance I get and try to squeeze through places and I always end up in this awkward position where they're coming at me from both sides.
I just need to be more patient.
I used to think people blamed the game instead of themselves too but now this has made it edivent that you peolpe just ASSUME that we think it's the games fault.
If all of a sudden you start having a hard time with something that is normally a breeze, don't you think you'd at least inquire about it? Yeah, I thought so. Get off your high horses.
And don't be stupid enough to tell me to avoid them, as if I don't already know. I said I did this many times without any problems, so obviously I didn't aggro any before. It's not like I walk up to them and say HELLO COME TRY AND KILL ME AND SEE IF I CAN DODGE YOUR SHARD STORMS FOR FUN TO MAKE MY RUNS OVER AN HOUR LONG. Yeah, that's right it's allllllll on purpose.
I think you are what's wrong with today's society. A person can't even ask a question in a forum anymore without getting chewed out.

Good post ^^
Amazing how quickly people get all self righteous on these forums without even bothering to read the actual post first.

I hereby nominate this for Post of the Year consideration. Although, you did forget to include Turkish Echo in your retort, as Lycan was quoting his reply to you.
It's a shame really. As there can be times where the game is acting screwy and ANET needs to make a corrective action. And sometimes it takes a bit for it to become publically known. Take the phenomenon of "rubber banding". How many of us have found out about this the hard way and paid dearly for it? You know, when you think you've run past an enemy. Only to be snapped back in place to where they are? Or even better, not being snapped back at all and just running on, thinking you're clear, while continually taking a pounding only to die from damage, lol.
Now I'm not a programmer, so I couldn't really say wether this is something ANET could even fix, but instead of ranting and raving, I just remember that I need to take a better path when trying to pass enemies. If I make better decisions, I can make game defects a nonfactor in my runs. But God forbid you come to a forum that is suppossed to be about helping each other, and ask a question about something. It's an open invitation to all internet tough guys to talk smack, from the safety of their keyboards. A real shame indeed.
Oh, and to answer your original question. I haven't encountered any problems with Coldfires that weren't self inflicted.

Dahl, you seem to already have the answer: more patience. One one hour and fifteen minute run should've given you that impression.

My apologies to the OP.
I didnt have him in mind when I wrote that, it was a generalization to Turkish Echo's post.
